About New Chapter Coaching

It has been a lifelong dream to start my own business and create a work life in alignment with my personal life. Coaching allows me to partner with people to co-create goals and achieve positive sustainable change in their lives and/or businesses by listening mindfully, asking powerful questions, and facilitating self-learning. The benefits and outcomes of coaching are specific, tangible, and real, if not immediate.

Carolyn Sullivan

Over the past 23 years, Carolyn has demonstrated success in a wide diversity of work environments. She has worked both in private industry and the government, in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, and on the local, state, and national levels. Carolyn has owned and run her own businesses, both as a law firm general partner and as an independent nonprofit consultant.

Carolyn enjoyed a successful 15 year career as a trial attorney in one of Boston’s prestigious boutique firms. She was elected the first female general partner in her firm’s 15 year history. In 2002, Carolyn transitioned to the nonprofit sector to pursue the aspiration of heading a nonprofit organization. During the course of her 3 1/2 years as its executive director, Carolyn increased the organization’s reputation, capacity, and visibility.

After leading the affiliate, the national organization recruited her as a consultant to pilot an executive coaching program for new executive directors.  After overwhelming success with this program, she was invited to head the organization’s new Affiliate Development Department, where she served for two years.  Her crowning achievement during her tenure was a dramatic positive improvement in the working relationships and trust between the national organization and its state affiliates.

Carolyn understands change on both a professional and personal level. During her time as consultant and department director, Carolyn advised state affiliates on nearly 20 executive transitions. In addition, she has successfully navigated herself with grace and equanimity through career transitions and times of personal transformation. She is thrilled to be starting this pheonmenal new chapter and is equally excited about working with others on theirs.

Mission Statement

The mission of the company is to provide premiere executive and life coaching for nonprofit organizations and individuals enabling them to maximize opportunities for learning, fulfillment, and growth, and to create positive sustainable change in their businesses and lives.
